The Kansas Small Business Development Center (SBDC), located at WSU, offers confidential, no-cost advising to help you start or grow your business. 

The Kansas APEX Accelerator (formerly PTAC), located at WSU, is ready to help your business secure government contracts. They provide individualized counseling and informative training seminars about timely contracting issues and the latest guidelines to help you learn how the procurement system can work for you. They also assist in developing a government marketing strategy and identifying agencies that purchase your product/service.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) offers resources for starting a business. 

NetWork Kansas matching loan programs are designed to support private capital by providing matching funds to assist startups and existing businesses that are expanding. A variety of loan programs are offered based on geography, matching loan amounts, and project need.

The South Central Kansas Economic Development District is located in Bel Aire, Kansas, and provides small business loans to Kansas entrepreneurs. Loan programs are offered across three categories: Microloan, Midsize Loan, and Commercial Real Estate and Heavy Equipment Loan along with business planning tools.

SBA provides limited small business grants and grants to states and eligible community organizations to promote entrepreneurship.

SBA provides low-interest disaster loans to help businesses and homeowners recover from declared disasters.

SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, is dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals.

NetWork Kansas is growing an entrepreneurial environment in Kansas by cultivating resources to start and grow small businesses. We are a statewide network of non-profit business-building resources that help entrepreneurs and small business owners startup and grow successful businesses.

The Greater Wichita Partnership aligns resources and focuses the business community on common strategies that fast-forward economic development and growth in Wichita and South Central Kansas. Their work is focused on three priority areas - jobs, talent and quality of place - to fast-forward growth.

Create Campaign, Inc. activates urban entrepreneurs in Kansas to launch, innovate and grow. 

The Kansas Department of Commerce (KDC) offers resources to help start and grow your business.

The PROPEL District 1 Loan Fund is a low-interest, short-term revolving loan program. The fund serves as another resource to help make access to capital more readily available to businesses located in Wichita City Council District 1. The microloan program helps provide general working capital to qualifying small businesses.

This fund offers short-term microloans in the amounts of $2,500 to $25,000 to qualified minority business owners, who may not otherwise qualify for traditional lending, to grow their businesses while also improving their financial profile. Business owners who qualify may use the funds to purchase inventory, equipment, materials and other supplies necessary to grow their enterprises.

The Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce is the dedicated champion for our more than 1,400 business members and their employees. The Chamber’s volunteer leadership and staff allocate the organization’s resources to advance a competitive business environment that gives members a distinct advantage in achieving business objectives.

Through the creation of partnerships, resources, and initiatives, the Heartland Black Chamber of Commerce aims to support entrepreneurs, community concerns, and business organizations in developing and growing Black enterprises.

The Hive is an inspiring coworking space and community for women entrepreneurs in downtown Wichita, where women gather to work in peace, build their network authentically, and grow strategically through small business-focused events, coaching, and networking. The Hive serves as a lighthouse to point women to the resources that can help them start and grow their businesses.

Empower Evergreen (EE) provides the Hispanic/Latino community connection to a continuum of educational opportunities, work-readiness preparation, and small business development resources in a culturally inviting, bilingual, and comfortable space.

VetBiz is positively impacting communities by fostering the growth of veteran and military family businesses. We provide no-cost services, including training, counseling, and mentorship, to help our clients transition their military skills into business success. We serve active duty personnel transitioning to civilian life, Reserve and National Guard members, honorably discharged veterans, military spouses and families, as well as veteran caregivers located in Missouri, Kansas, and Southern Illinois.
